CELTIC, Central Europe. Helvetii. Late 2nd to early 1st century BC. 1/4 Stater (Gold, 15 mm, 1.95 g, 8 h), 'au noeud' type. Celticized laureate head of Apollo to right, the hair in curls with a strand falling loose before the forehead. Rev. Celticized charioteer driving biga to right, holding kentron in his right hand and reins in his left; below, eight-shaped knot; in exergue, ΠNNTΘ. Allen, SNR 53 (1974), pl. 13, 101 ff. (same dies).
